Empowering equine passion, one scholarship at a time.

About

The Michigan Equine Scholarship Fund (MESF) is dedicated to the encouragement and investment in qualified youth and/or the children of our military veterans in equine-related therapy programs. Our goal is to support access to the appropriate or desired secondary education pursuits, including but not limited to two and four-year college and university degrees, vocational programs and trade schools, regardless of economic circumstances.

Criteria

Youth Applicants – A youth applicant is anyone age 20 or younger (as of January 1 the year of application submission) who has completed high school or an equivalent program, such as a GED.

Equine Organization Membership – Eligible youth must be an active member of a Michigan-based equine organization, such as 4-H, FFA, Paint or Quarter Horse associations, high school equestrian or rodeo programs, draft horse or mule/donkey clubs, or competitive equine discipline associations (e.g., reining or jumping). The membership requirement may not apply to the children of Veterans or the Veteran themselves.

Equine Involvement – The youth applicants must be a participant in an organized equine activity. Or be the applying child of an injured US Military veteran who is currently undergoing equine-assisted therapy of any kind.
